Non-Dominica National individuals who are married to a Dominican are eligible to apply for o Commonweath of Dominica passport, after residing in the country for at least three years. These persons though, must remain married within this time period, and be law abiding residents with a valid residence and work permit.

by Descent & by Birth

Dominica law allows for the acquisition of Commonwealth of Dominica citizenship by birth or by descent.

This type of citizenship is automatically conferred to any individual who is born in the Commonwealth of Dominica on the basis of jus soli, also known as “right of the soil”, irrespective of the nationality of his/her parents.

Citizenship by Descent (through parents)

To receive citizenship by descent – a child must be born to a parent who was born in Dominica or naturalized as a citizen of Dominica.
